It's scary.
i'M GONNA SEE WICKED!!!! The musical!!! I've waited for this for YEARS! Then it finally came to Oz but it opened in Melbourne (pft... Melbourne? WHY Melbourne? Isn't Sydney THE business capital of this country???) and NOOOW in September it's coming to Sydney! Tickets go on sale on June 23rd! Yay! And I'm gonna buy them on that same very day! I'm going with my mummy <3 we've made it a tradition now to go and watch musicals together! And OMGGGGGGG!! I can't waittt! I can''ttt!! Hahahah it's TORTUREEEE! =P. I am like SOOO exciteddd!!! I know it's gonna be awesome, from everything I've seen and heard so far I know for sure I'm gonna be in complete AWE! I.CAN'T.WAIT!!!!
Elphaba - why couldn't you have stayed calm for once,
instead of flying off the handle!
I hope you're happy
I hope you're happy now
I hope you're happy how you
Hurt your cause forever
I hope you think you're clever
Elphaba:
I hope you're happy
I hope you're happy too
I hope you're proud how you
Would grovel in submission
To feed your own ambition
Both:
So though I can't imagine how
I hope you're happy right now...
Glinda:
Elphie, listen to me - just say you're sorry...
You can still be with the wizard
What you've worked and waited for
You can have all you ever wanted...
Elphaba:
I know...But I don't want it - NO - I can't want it
anymore...
Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes and leap
It's time to try
Defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And you can't pull me down...
Glinda:
Can't I make you understand, you're having delusions of grandeur...?
Elphaba:
I'm through accepting limits
'Cuz someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change
But 'till I try, I'll never know
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing love - I guess I have lost
Well, if that's love
It comes at much too high a cost
I'd sooner buy
Defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye
I'm defying gravity
And you can't pull me down...
Elphaba: Glinda, come with me. Think of what we could do - together.
I'm Limited
Together we're unlimited
Together we'll be the greatest team
There's ever been, Glinda,
Dreams the way we planned 'em
Glinda:
If we work in tandem
Both:
There's no fight we cannot win
Just you and I
Defying gravity
With you and I
Defying gravity
Elphaba:
They'll never bring us down...
Well? Are you coming?
Glinda:
I hope you're happy
Now that you're choosing this...
Elphaba:
You too - I hope it brings you bliss
Both:
I really hope you get it
And you don't live to regret it
I hope you're happy in the end
I hope you're happy, my friend...
Elphaba:
So if you care to find me
Look to the western sky
As someone told me lately -
Ev'ryone deserves the chance to fly
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who'd ground me
Take a message back from me -
Tell them how I
Am defying gravity!
I'm flying high
Defying gravity!
And soon I'll match them in renown
And nobody in all of Oz
No wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me down!
Glinda:
I hope you're happy!
Citizens of Oz:
Look at her, shes wicked!
Get her!
Elphaba:
...bring me down!
Citizens of Oz:
No one mourns the wicked
So we've got to bring her...
Elphaba:
Ahhhh!
Citizens of Oz:
Down!
Arrghh!!! SEPTEMBER PLEASE HURRYY!!!!
=P =P =P
I watched this episode recently and this part just stood out SO
much... I just love it, it’s SOOOO brilliant and hilarious! David has really
made Ross such a remarkable character, I don’t think anyone could play it like
him! :D Loves it!
:D :D :D
(pay attention...)
Give'em the old razzle dazzle
Razzle Dazzle 'em
Give 'em an act with lots of flash in it
And the reaction will be passionate
Give 'em the old hocus pocus
Bead and feather 'em
How can they see with sequins in their eyes?
What if your hinges all are rusting? What if, in fact, you're just disgusting?
Razzle dazzle 'em
And they;ll never catch wise!
Give 'em the old Razzle Dazzle
Razzle dazzle 'em
Give 'em a show that's so splendiferous
Row after row will crow vociferous
Give 'em the old flim flam flummox
Fool and fracture 'em
How can they hear the truth above the roar?
Throw 'em a fake and a finagle
They'll never know you're just a bagel,
Razzle dazzle 'em
And they'll beg you for more!
Give 'em the old double whammy
Daze and dizzy 'em
Back since the days of old Methuselah
Everyone loves the big bambooz-a-ler
Give 'em the old three ring circus
Stun and stagger 'em
When you're in trouble, go into your dance
Though you are stiffer than a girder
They'll let you get away with murder
Razzle dazzle 'em
And you've got a romance
Give 'em the old Razzle Dazzle
Razzle dazzle 'em
Show 'em the first rate sorceror you are
Long as you keep 'em way off balance
How can they spot you've got no talent
Razzle Dazzle 'em
Razzle Dazzle 'em
Razzle Dazzle 'em
And they'll make you a star!
I was watching the new season of the US ‘So you think You Can Dance’ show and I saw this guy in the auditions, Robert Muraine. He’s a popper, and no that doesn’t mean he does pop music or something, lmao. Popping is like this new way of dancing that’s all about making your body well... pop! Lol! Anyway, it’s REALLY cool and VERY difficult! And usually it’s just awesome to see poppers perform, but this guy... O M G... this guy is a F R E A K, seriously! It’s pretty much SCARY to watch him do his thing! He’s SO good it’ll probably freak you out! (so beware! Watch the vid at your own risk!) But I just had to post him here cos yeah OMG... he’s AWESOME! :O
A WHILE ago now me and a couple of my friends got pretty much OBSESSED with "The Phantom of the Opera" the movie (think of meeee, think of me fooondly! :P) so when the musical opened again in theaters Tita was smart enough to suggest we go watch it! (*claps* BRAVO TITA!) My experience with theater was well... ZERO. Never really been to a play, or inside a theater... did I want to? I was DYING to. So when this came up I really really wanted to be part of it! So we went yesterday! I was very excited all day, just imagining what it'd be like, cos I knew it was gonna be AWESOME. We got there late :P (bloody parking...) so when we got inside the music was already going. In a way that was great for me though, cos it felt like I was stepping RIGHT into the excitement of the song (the typical Phantom melody... gosh it just NEVER gets old!). The first thing I saw was the chandelier, very first thing I thought 'Wow'. Then once I sat down and looked down at the stage (we were on the balconies, on the third floor, to the right) I was SO pleasantly surprised to see how CLOSE to the stage we were! They were RIGHT THERE! It was AWESOME! I had never in my life been so close to the stage in a show before! :P. And the show... well, if I was to go through all of my thoughts here it would be too long :P all I'll say is that to me it was all like a dream I'd dreamed a thousand times but never really lived before. I'm still completely amazed, the magic of the theatre is awesome, and SO applausable! It's amazing how they can turn the stage into so many different places, one right after the other. The production was just brilliant! It's like taking little pieces of different places and putting them on the scene, you just have to admire the creativity needed to do something like that SO well! And well the music... and THE SINGING... :O wow. It's funny when you think of everything you hear on the radio today, and then you hear THAT... wow, puts it to great shame really. I couldn't believe it was all L I V E, the singing, the orchestra... it was all CD quality but it was happening right then and there! Never really been an Opera fan but... amazing music is amazing music, and that's that (The Music of the Night... <3). It was awesome :D And the songs are BEAUTIFUL! Lyrics and melody <3 I'm so happy! :D (THANKS TITA! <3). OK maybe cos it was my very first time and I don't have anything to compare it to I am being a bit over dramatic :P, either way though... it WAS brilliant <3. At the end the audience clapped SOO much and for SOOO long (my arms were HURTING!) I'd never seen such an ovation! And the only thing I know for sure is that this will NOT be my last theater experience. This is only the beginning... :P
when we've said goodbye.
Remember me once in a while -
please promise me you'll try.
When you find that, once again, you long
to take your heart back and be free -
if you ever find a moment,
spare a thought for me
We never said our love was evergreen,
or as unchanging as the sea -
but if you can still remember
stop and think of me . . .
Think of all the things
we've shared and seen -
don't think about the things
which might have been . . .
Think of me, think of me waking,
silent and resigned.
Imagine me, trying too hard
to put you from my mind.
Recall those days
look back on all those times,
think of the things we'll never do -
there will never be a day,
when I won't think of you . . .
Flowers fades,
The fruits of summer fade,
They have decisions, so do we
but please promise me, that sometimes
you will think of me.
Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses
Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendour
Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender
Turn your face away from the garish light of day
Turn your thoughts away from cold, unfeeling light
And listen to the music of the night
Close you eyes and surrender to your darkest dreams
purge your thoughts of the life you knew before
Close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar
And you'll live as you've never lived before
Softly, deftly, music shall caress you
Hear it, feel it, secretly posess you
Open up your mind,
Let your fantasies unwind
In this darkness which you know you cannot fight
The darkness of the music of the night
Let your mind start a journey through a strange, new world
Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before
Let your soul take you where you long to be!
Only then can you belong to me
Floating, falling, sweet intoxication
Touch me, trust me, savour each sensation
Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in
To the power of the music that I write
The power of the music of the night
You alone can make my song take flight
Help me make the music of the night
I've been renting films lately... and yes that IS something that should have some kind of *gasps* to it because... I would RARELY (very very rarely... almost never) do that before. I don't know why I always got the impression it was expensive? And now I feel SO ashamed cos it actually... ISN'T! Lol at all! And me and my parents are getting into the habit of renting new movies every single monday, which is AWESOME! (Only bad thing is I can ONLY rent movies that come in spanish...). So yeah I just thought I may share some of my thoughts on the ones I like the most! (just briefly, don't worry!) Because I LOVE the world of motion pictures (*sighs*) and when done right... the screen becomes a magical portal <3. So my recommendations for this week arrrrrrre:
Ratatouille
OK seriously... ONLY Disney could make a RAT be one of the most adorable things EVER! There's just nothing you can do about it, Disney is quality and it will NEVER disappoint! (well not counting sequels...). I loved it cos it manages to show such a weird and different idea in a way that doesn't really make you think about it or question it, cos that's not what's important. It's just very sweet, entertaining and fun! It's the kind of movie anyone and everyone will like I think!
Casanova
OK, so this ain't no MASTERPIECE! Is it more about Heath Ledger being Casanova (O M G...) than anything else? OK, maybe... :P I do think it's worth watching! It was done in Venice, all of it! And well that already guarantees the most beautiful sets! The way they depict the era is BEAUTIFUL! The buildings and sightings, the production in general is brilliant! :) The story per se is good too! Not awesome, a bit confusing at some points... but yeah enjoyable! It's just something you watch for fun! Doesn't mean it's meaningless, but it's not OMG! (Although Heath IS OMG...)
Monalisa Smile
You know lately I've noticed more and more how the new 'girl power' genre is developing more and more in all these different kind of productions! It's awesome isn't it? (well for us girls anyway! Guys if you don't like it... well, too bad :P). I loved this film, I really really did! I loved it more because it wasn't the usual 'female revolution' movement that only shows ONE side of the story, or only focused on THAT one thing. This was more about freedom, about girls who find the freedom they want to decide what they really want. Whether that is a independence or raising a family, it doesn't matter because it's THEIR choice.
Girls, this is MUST-WATCH, OK? Boys... well it's not some cheesy, lovey-dovey chick flick or anything like that! So you have nothing to be afraid of! ;) lol!
Calendar Girls
I wasn't really sure what to expect of this movie, honestly I just picked it cos at the moment I didn't find anything else! :P. But well I have to say I was quite delighted with it. See young women are usually complimented because the belief is that our bodies are as beautiful as they'll ever be, and we can show them off (well morally anyway...) without any problems. Once women are older though, that changes, and it's more about hiding their bodies, because the belief is that their time has passed and now it is the 'decaying' stage, so it is not OK any more to be proud of them. I didn't just like this movie cos it challenged that and show how unfair that perception is, I really liked it cos it went beyond that, to what happens after that. To how under the current popular ideas and expectations honest truth and beauty can be totally distorted. It's very good and interesting, and funny too! So yeah, if you ever get the chance give it a go! ;)
For those of you who have been watching the 'So you think you can dance' show! I HOPE you're all going to vote for Jack! :P C'mon guys pleasssse? :P hahaha, I just want him to win SO badly! Cos he's just SO good! Honestly I love all of the dancers in the top 4, I think they're all great! But Jack IS the best! Why? Because well..., like my mum would say, he has 'the feeling'. He's just dynamic and passionate every time he dances and has such an amazing energy! It's beautiful to watch him dance and though all the other guys ARE really great he stands out, cos to me it's obvious he dances with his heart <3. So I really want him to win! So if you could all vote for him I'd really appreciate it :P hehehe! ;) Here's just ONE example of why he deserves to win:
If he doesn't win well... I'll be happy with whoever wins really but I
think it'd be the RIGHT decision if Jack takes it :P So yeah! Can't
wait till Sunday! *crosses fingers* VOTE JACK!!! :D
“I love you, you belong to me.”
Well getting to watch this movie was a challenge! As soon as I
finished the book I knew I HAD TO (yes had to!) watch the movie! I went to the video store and they had it but… they didn’t know where it was (pft…) I walked
around for over ten minutes trying to find it but nothing. Then, I went to the
stores in the mall and none of them had it… days later I finally found
it, but then I wasn’t sure if I wanted to buy it… (What if I didn’t like it?)
But in the end… I just HAD TO watch the movie, so I got it. And I just finished
watching it (twice :P yes… I’m obsessive like that when I really like something
:P) and I loved every second of it! The movie IS different to the book; they
made a romance out of it! But thankfully they didn’t make it your typical Hollywood
romance (well at least I don’t think so…) it was believable, they made it real. I don’t really think I could explain why it is
so beautiful, so I found the perfect scene (and my fave scene of the movie too)
to just show it:
Now Audrey… well I guess most of you must know who she is (considering she’s a legend) but until I saw this I didn’t really know her. My teacher said in my classes that SHE was the one that made movies classics back in those days, and wow yes… I totally understand why now. She was AWESOME, brilliant! She was the PERFECT Holly Golightly (she was HER really), and I am SO glad because after finding such an amazing character is great to see they brought her to life the way they should have. Although she was a ‘sweeter’ version of the original Holly, all the elegance and delicacy and everything that made Holly unique were there (and the voice… wow! Sweetest voice ever?).
One thing I absolutely ADORED about the movie though was the soundtrack ‘Moon river;, WOW… I’d never heard it before and it’s just SO beautiful and sweet and nice <3 You gotta listen! (although probably most of you already know it :P
So yeah kids… you gotta watch it! It’s truly a treasure :).
Yes I know I just did the review for the book YESTERDAY! I’m SO annoying! Hahahaha, but I just went to see the movie today so I just wanted to comment on it too! I had actually waited till I was done with the book to watch the movie! And well… it’s a really good movie, I enjoyed it… though honestly I’d read SUCH good reviews that I was expecting a bit more… but well actually it was really good! You know how the usual saying is that the book is better than the movie? Well I actually didn’t feel that way with this movie; I’d say that they are both AS good! Which is probably a great compliment! I loved them both and though the stories varied a little… they both managed to tell a great story.
What was better about the movie was that it showed to a greater and deeper extent the relationship and love between Holly and Gerry (and btw Gerard Butler is hot and sexy! And his Irish accent… SO CUTE!), though I think the book was better at showing the close friendship between Holly, Sharon and Denise (and that was important cos that made up most of the funny parts!) but well the other little twists as in the way the letters get to Holly, and have Daniel have some kind of weird funny social disease, added a lot of spice to it. But the BEST change was just the introduction of William (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) who was just OH SO BEAUTIFUL <3 (I love you…) and we get to see his butt! WOO! Hahahaha :P. And yes it was definitely more emotional… I found myself teary at some points! :O. But well it was a great story told with a few changes that didn’t make it better but yes as great. I definitely recommend it for a fun day out with friends! ;)
Well
one thing that I did LOVE LOVE LOVE about the movie was the song for it, and I
just HAVE TO show it here. It’s SO beautiful! :) Awww :P
